A Winter Landscape in the Museum
In Central Switzerland, home of the famous former bob racer Martin
Annen and the spectacular so-called «Horämämel Rennen» (a downhill race
for hay sledges), sledges and sledging look back on a long tradition.
The exhibition «Speedy Sledges» presents in an enchanted winter
landscape historic figure sledges featuring charming animal motives,
very basic and squat single-seaters (so-called «Füdlitrucke») as well as
fast toboggans. Selected films take the viewer on pleasurable and swift
sledge rides and also explain how sledges were used as a means of
transport in earlier days.
